The City of Hazleton's Engineering Department is responsible for the maintenance of 120 miles of road, 180 miles of sewer lines, 15 traffic control signs, and 26 signalized intersections.

In addition, the Engineering Department also issues excavation permits and approves sewer line tap-ons for City residents.
