Hazleton Parks and Recreation has an equitable and exceptional parks and recreation system that connects people to each other, to enriching experiences, and to the natural world.

Mission

The residents of Hazleton own a treasure of facilities and resources they have entrusted to Hazleton Parks & Recreation to manage democratically, equitably, and sustainably. Parks & Rec activates and stewards those treasures with programs and services that contribute to the wellness and prosperity of all.

What We Do

The Hazleton Parks Department operates and maintains 16 parks in the city. The Department provides recreation and event programming to participants of all ages and abilities.

Standards of Behavior

For the enjoyment and safety of everyone, Hazleton Recreation & Parks requires all park users and participants of recreational programs to treat the people and facilities connected with its programs with respect and abide by all rules and direction from staff. Parks & Recreation reserves the right to refuse service to anyone for failure to abide by these standards.

Photo Policy

Hazleton Parks & Recreation reserves the right to photograph facilities, activities, and program participants for potential promotional use. All photos are the property of Hazleton Parks & Recreation and may be used for publicity or promotional purposes only. Liability Policy

In consideration of participation in Hazleton Parks & Recreation programs, participants agree to indemnify and hold the City of Hazleton harmless and release the City of Hazleton, its officers, employees, and agents from any and all liability for any injury arising out of or in any way connected with participation in the Department's programs.
