Hazleton Public Transit (HPT), a service of the City of Hazleton's Department of Public Services, operates nine routes in the City of Hazleton and surrounding townships and boroughs Monday through Friday, with limited service on Saturdays and Sundays.

Seniors
Senior citizens age 65 and older ride HPT free during off-peak hours (Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., and 5:30 p.m. to 7 a.m.; and all day Saturday and Sunday). Children under 6 years of age ride free when accompanied by a paying adult.

The City of Hazleton - Hazleton Public Transit (HPT) hereby announces its fiscal year 2009 goals for transit system procurements of 1.0% for Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (including Women Business Enterprises) in federally funded contracts. The goals, including a description of the transit systems DBE program, are available for review and comment at the HPT Operations Center, 40 N. Church St., Hazleton, PA 18201, Monday through Friday 9 A.M. to 3 P.M.
