City of Hazleton receives $255,058 for streets improvement PDF Print E-mail

The City of Hazleton will be making improvements on Diamond Avenue and Locust Street with a $255,058 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG-R).

The City will be repairing Diamond Avenue from Church to Broad streets, and Locust Street from Diamond Avenue to Maple Street.

The total number of people expected to be employed in the construction project is estimated to be 13.

This project is part of the $1 Billion American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 that was signed into law by President Obama on Feb. 17, 2009. It awards CDBG Recovery (CDBG-R) funds to be distributed to cities such as Hazleton.
