For tax-related questions, contact The Office of Administration at 570-459-4960. Taxes collected in the city include:

  • Emergency and Municipal Services Tax - $52 per year.
  • Real Estate Transfer Tax - one percent.
  • Earned Income Tax - 1.9 percent, of which 0.4 percent goes toward the pension fund.
  • Per Capita Tax - $5, and a resident tax of $5.
